Beautiful Nepal is a treasure trove for tourists as it embraces the sublime beauty of cultures and traditions of the country. As stated above being a part of South Asia, there innumerable attractions of Nepal, but without doubt, the festivals fall in the extraordinary category which entices the populace as well as the visitors. Festivals such as Dashain, Tihar, Holi are not only festivals but are cultural spectacles that open a great window into Nepali traditions and the spirit of hospitality is among the best in the world. For the tourists who would like to get the feel of the rich Nepalese traditions, such festivals are the best entry point. 


Dashain: A Grand Celebration of Victory and Family 

Vijaya Dashami also called Dashain is the most extensive and one of the most important festivals in the kingdom of Nepal. It lasts for 15 days and is an important festival which represents the victory of good over evil and the victory of goddess Durga against the demon king Mahishasura. This festival is a celebration of the harvest season where people, especially families, pay homage to their forefathers. 

Tourist Experience:As for the tourists, Dashain presents an opportunity to have a look at the richness of Nepali cultural experience. The heel Ground staff, delightful processions, and gleaming hieratic dance offers a real understanding of the place’s spirituality and wealth. Tourists can observe the ‘festiveness’ of the tourists in the Kathmandu Durbar Square or in Bhaktapur, the historical Nepalese town where ceremonial occasions are performed. Touching the cultural identity is great satisfaction, therefore using Tika (mark on the forehead) or Jamara (barley grass) makes one feel culturally involved. 


Tihar: The Festival of Lights and Brotherhood 

Deepawali or Tihar is a five day festival that brings beams of light into the Nepalese night. As the festival is dedicated to goddess Laxmi, it also focuses on the relationship between brother and sister with tika ceremony. 

Tourist Experience: Tihar is a wonderful festival that continues to be appealing to tourists to gauge Nepalese festive period. The streets, house are beautifully decorated with great rangoli artwork and beautiful lights and make the entire environment looks beautiful. They can also celebrate the festivity, watch out the local types of dance like Bhailo and Deusi and even get a chance to worship animals such as cows and crows. It is a pleasure to be a guest of Tihar as it has a warm environment and is highly welcoming for any guest who is visiting. 


Holi: The Festival of Colors and Joy

Holi or the festival of colors is a great Festival that is being celebrated all over Nepal with great vigor and enthusiasm. This is a bright festival, which has been held to welcome the spring and has people tossing bright colored powders and water at each other. 

 

Tourist Experience: Holi is celebrate in colors and music and serves as an interesting play way to derive fun and contact with Nepalese tradition. There are the common cultures like people of all ages are seen to engage in color fights, dancing as well as enjoying tasty morsels. Tourists who can interact with people in groups or neighborhoods of Kathmandu or Pokhara truly love the festival. Evaluating and accepting the spirit of Holi enables tourists to come closer to the people and have great and joyous experiences. .
